Laura Bailey is a singer, songwriter, and vocal coach based in Guelph. She performs her original songs in live-off-the-floor videos, which are posted on her YouTube Channel. As part of her songwriting project Stories2Songs, she takes real life stories from friends and fans, and turns them into songs. Her live recordings are also released on bandcamp.

She has performed at events such as the Toronto Fringe Festival 2013 (NNNN), WorldPride Toronto 2014, the London A Cappella Festival 2015, and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2016 (*****). She conceived and starred in the one-woman musical comedy Unplanned Melody. In her collaborations, she has opened for luminaries such as Peaches, Nikki Yanofsky, and Holly Cole, and has performed with the Swingle Singers. She has appeared on CP24 Breakfast, CTV’s Canada AM, and as part of CBC’s Sounds of the Season. Laura was most recently a member of Canadian a cappella sensation Countermeasure, with whom she toured Europe and recorded studio releases. She is featured on their 2016 album Made to Measure, which was nominated for two Toronto Independent Music Awards.

Laura has studied voice with Micah Barnes, Tannis Sprott, and Benjamin Stein. She teaches music lessons at her home in Guelph, and majors in Voice with the Royal Conservatory of Music. In addition to voice, she also teaches beginner piano, guitar, ukulele, and music theory. She has a precocious English bulldog named Molly.
